The Estill County School District is pleased to announce that we have a new High School Principal joining our team. Trent Singleton is a proud Estill County native who is thrilled to be returning home to serve as Principal of Estill County High School. Coming back to the community that shaped him is both a personal and professional honor, and he is genuinely excited to give back to the place that has always meant so much to him. Mr. Singleton earned his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and his Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Eastern Kentucky University, and later completed his PhD in Leadership. Each step of his educational journey has strengthened his passion for students, teachers, and building schools where people feel supported, challenged, and inspired to grow. Most recently, Mr. Singleton served as Head Principal in Madison County, where he had the opportunity to lead an incredible school community focused on strong relationships, high expectations, and continuous growth. Through this role, he gained valuable experience collaborating across schools and districts, learning from diverse perspectives, and implementing practices that support both academic success and positive school culture. He is excited to bring those experiences back—building on the already fantastic culture and great work happening at Estill County High School. Mr. Singleton believes deeply in teamwork, trust, and putting students first. He is eager to listen, learn, and work alongside the dedicated staff, students, and families of ECHS as they continue moving the school forward together. He cannot wait to get started and is honored, grateful, and excited to begin this next chapter back home in Estill County.
