Parents of current Juniors: There will be an informational meeting about next year's Senior Trip on Thursday, May 28th, at 6:00 pm in the ECHS auditorium. At this meeting, students will be allowed to sign up and reserve a seat for next year's trip. The cost to reserve a seat is $100. Please plan on attending if your child is interested in attending the 2027 Senior Trip.

There will be no school in the Estill County School District for Tuesday, March 17, 2027 due to hazardous road conditions, especially in the mountain areas.




Applications for two $2,500 scholarships from Rumpke Waste & Recycling are now available for Estill County High School seniors. Information can be found at www.rumpke.com/community/giving-back/scholarships, and hard copies of the application are available in the high school’s guidance counselor’s office.
The scholarships are part of Rumpke’s commitment to education and are offered to graduating high school seniors in designated communities in the company’s service areas, which now includes Estill County. Students pursuing a two-year or four-year degree from an accredited institution, including vocational/trade schools, are eligible.
“As a family-owned and -operated business, we believe in investing in the next generation,” said Region Vice President Adam Rumpke. “To help support education and development, we offer annual scholarships to graduating high school seniors throughout our service areas.”
In 2025, Rumpke awarded $82,500 in scholarships. Winners are chosen based on their commitment to academics, leadership ability, environmental stewardship and desire to serve the community.
Rumpke also provides free facility and landfill tours and on-site presentations to educate students and community members of all ages about proper waste disposal and recycling.
